SST: The Ladybugs' Picnic

SESAME STREET TUESDAY

Among the DVD extras on second disc of The Incredibles is a tribute to longtime Pixar animator Bud Luckey, who wrote, directed, and performed the music for the animated short Boundin'. So how does one go on to become a key player for an animation giant like Pixar? With a resumé full of work for Sesame Street! He also worked for General Mills, animating the likes of Toucan Sam, Tony the Tiger, and Snap, Crackle and Pop - seriously, how cool is this guy? He's made several little Sesame Street gems that I loved as a kid (like this or this), but I think his masterpiece must be the immortal "Ladybugs' Picnic":

I'd like to thank all those who commented on the previous SST clip - as of this writing there are eight of you, meaning that I fulfilled my New Year's resolution without cheating. I'd also like to apologize for the complete dearth of posts in between these last two SST posts - I don't want this to turn into just a Sesame Street blog, but my semester is turning out to be even busier than I imagined (even beyond my television commitments). I started a couple of posts and couldn't finish them, but hopefully I'll find some time to polish them off this week.

Happy Sesame Street Tuesday! (I've got to work out a partnership with Hallmark or something.)

Now that is a classic.

I had no idea that all those shorts were from the same guy. Great little piece of information right there.

This was also one of my favorites when I was a kid! It's so happy and great! I love "Boundin'," too-it's so much fun!
