Brian Presents: His Girl Friday

Brian Presents: made its Ann Arbor debut last Friday with the 1940 Howard Hawks-directed and Cary Grant-starring screwball comedy His Girl Friday. It was a historic occasion for Brian Presents: for a few reasons: as previously stated, it was the first one in Michigan (it had previously appeared in Utah and Ohio), it was the first Brian Presents: of the Facebook era (this was by farrrrr the easiest Brian Presents: to organize and publicize), and it was the Silver Anniversary of Brian Presents:. Well, I guess not "anniversary" since it was founded in February, 1999, but still it was the 25th Brian Presents:.

Preparing the food is half the fun. The soda-cracker pie (bottom right) was my main project, but I also made some fresh Brazilian-style Limeade and, you guessed it, Choco Ramen (bottom left).

Picture's a little blurry, but these are some of my cool friends.

Maggie on our fabulous fake LoveSac.
She's using my 'Brian Presents: Recommends' handout as a coaster.

John and Erick keepin' it real.

As far as I could tell it was a hit - there were about 15 people there (an ideal number - any more and it's a little too big) and afterwards people started asking me when I was going to do the next one. Most of my friends are scattering pretty soon for the summer so I'm not sure when I'll do it, but be on the lookout for Brian Presents #26: The Blue Kite.

First of all-- I definitely was not the one that put the drink on your handout, and I have a sneaking suspicion it was Micah since he was sitting next to me. I would never disrespect your Brian Presents Suggestions, and also want you to know it's hanging up in my room so I can check it off as I watch all your cool suggestions.

Second of all-- I can't wait for the next one! Hurray!!!

Congratulations on the Ann Arbor premier of Brian Presents! What a great turnout. I'm sure it was a hit and you've left them wanting more as they mostly leave for the summer- including you. I wondered how the Soda Cracker Pie turned out and it looks great!

BTW... Congratulations on surviving the long, cold winter (we're enjoying spring in California- it's still snowing in Utah, we hear) and a huge Congrats on finishing your first year of the Doctorate! We are proud of you, Brian!

You should post your Brian Presents Suggestions. I'm sure there are a number I haven't seen yet.

And a note on soda cracker pie... We love this pie and make it fairly often. I had no idea growing up (where soda cracker pie was a rarity and a celebration in itself) that it was so easy to make with pantry staples.

Yes, post the suggestions, and perhaps the Soda Cracker Pie recipe. How about franchising the Brian Presents series- let us know when you are going to watch the Blue Kite and we can show it here simultaneously . . . or thereabouts.
