Birthday Photo Diary

I had a fun little day on my birthday and I thought I'd tell about it in pictures:

After an uneventful morning (sleeping in, teaching a voice lesson, having my own voice lesson), I went downtown to Cottage Inn for a complimentary birthday pizza (actually, they would only cover $7.95 of the meal, so it cost me about a dollar plus tip).

I then saw this guy who sits out in front of the library jamming on a harmonica and a washboard, and I had him play me 'Happy Birthday.'

Q: What's the most fun activity to do on one's birthday?
A: Skee-ball!!!
Q: What's the second most fun activity to do on one's birthday?
A: Donate blood!
I went to the Red Cross and I seriously scored. The nurses made these balloons (which are now hanging from our ceiling fan), plus they gave me a lunch box, a license plate holder, and a mug.
Finally, I hosted another Lost-watching party at my apartment. Leilani and John made me a cake (I thought it would be interesting to put all the candles in just one corner, but it just made that corner really waxy).

Free pizza, washboard serenade, skee-ball, blood donation, Lost party, and cake with friends. Who could ask for anything more?

Ha! Brian Tanner, I love you more every day. What an amazing birthday. And can I be invited the next time you have a Lost party? I've never watched it, and am really interested in finding out what the hype is all about.

Tom gave plasma on his birthday when we were dating. I thought that was pretty weird. He says you're a lot more generous for donating--he got paid and I think they surprised him by paying extra because it was his birthday. After having gone through the childbirth process recently, I realize what an appropriate birthday activity that is. A mom loses a lot of blood on their child's birth day!

Wish I could have been there for skee-ball! Happy Birthday!
